UNO Food Service Catering


The following information is needed for placing catering requests:

  • Name of organization, address and telephone of contact person
  • Person calling and person, group, or department (cost center number) responsible for payment
  • Number of participants expected
  • Plan and confirm menu with Catering Manager at least two weeks prior to the event.
  • Provide a guaranteed number of guests by noon two days prior to the event with the exception of Sunday and Monday events. The number of people for these events must be submitted by Thursday noon or you will be billed for the initial count given to our office.

Service Charge and Sales Tax

An 18% service charge applies to all catering related expenses included but not limited to the following:

  • Food
  • Delivery
  • Floral
  • Equipment rental
  • Linen

The service charge will not be assessed to University of Nebraska at Omaha cost centers or UNO student groups.

Changes and Cancellations

The Food Services Office must be notified of any changes or cancellations by noon two days prior to the scheduled date of the event. Individuals or groups may be charged for preparation and set-up costs incurred prior to the cancellation notice.

UNO Policy Regarding Leftover Food

For food safety reasons, all leftover food and beverages are the property of UNO Catering and will be disposed of according to state and local health regulations. Thus, no food may be removed from any catered event as this would violate University policy.

Use a credit card to pay for food
Food purchased in the Food Court can be paid for with a credit or debit card and your MavCard may be used as well.
You may also use credit cards for catering functions booked through Food Services.
Order "pick up" food off the catering menu - where do I go to pick it up?
You can go to the main Food Services' Office located on the second floor of the Student Center inside the Northwest corner of the building across from Performing Arts. After normal business hours and on weekends arrangements may be made.
Order catering items that are not on the menu?
The menus are designed as a guideline for ideas and pricing. Visit the Food Services' Office and discuss your requests with the catering staff.
Attend an event and I have a special dietary need. Can you make accommodations?
Tell the person in charge of the party and they can let catering know of your request. Vegetarian meals and special diets can usually be handled if known in advance.
